Otaru, Hokkaido
2025 Feb
The day after getting back from Niseko and Noboribetsu, we planned a day trip to Otaru. I needed to pick up my JR rail pass before heading there. It wasn't too long of a wait to get the pass. After, I headed to the platform to take the train to Otaru.

It was pretty packed on the platform even though it was a Monday.

It was a beautiful blue sky day in Hokkaido.

The train was packed and it was standing room only.

There's a market next to the station with lots of seafood for sale.

We walked down towards the canal and it was more picturesque than I expected.

The clock in Otaru is a twin of the one in Vancouver.

After browsing the large music box stores, we decided to stay to see the night view of the canal. We went back down the main commercial street. The night time view was beautiful as well.
